To celebrate the opening of the Nike SB Skatepark Templo Mayor, I was commissioned to create a sculpture to represent the essence of this new park within Mexican culture, taking skateboarding as inspiration.
Starting from the myth of the Fifth Sun of the Nahuatl culture, a parallel was told with the creation of the skatepark and marking a milestone in the beginning of a new era within Mexican skateboarding, taking as a fundamental principle the creative axis of movement.
We are beings that live in the era of the 5th Sun, we transform and mutate through time, we are part of that infinite multiplicity of cosmic mysticism, creation, sustenance, destruction and renewal.
